English learners in the Springfield School District are supported through service to individual students, small groups, and to whole classrooms. Students with other languages, students with parents or guardians with other languages, or students with a history of other languages in the home may be eligible to receive services. English proficiency is screened upon student entry to the district and, as required by the State of Vermont,  is tested annually.                                                                                 Curriculum instruction includes work within the four domains of English:              Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing, and the language of five content areas:  Social Instructional Language, the Language of Math, the Language of Science, the Language of Social Studies, and the Language of English Language Arts.
