STAR (Student Team for Animal Rescue)
MISSION STATEMENT: We will provide our time, energy and funds to improve the lives of animals that are in jeopardy, to protect them from future harm and to improve the quality of their lives.
ALL ARE WELCOME: This club is open to any and all students who would like to join us in our venture to rescue animals in jeopardy, to protect them from future harm and to improve the quality of their lives.
MEETINGS: are held on THURSDAYS, 2 times a month from 2:45-4:00. Please see our bulletin board outside of the cafe for dates.
WE meet to plan fundraising events so that we can donate monies to area animal shelters, and to the Springfield Family Center (Pet Food Supply) and to individuals with a pet in need. We also schedule field trips to the Springfield Humane Society, and TARPS in Chester, etc. to volunteer.
Contact: club advisors Kimberly Farrar and Janice Izzo at the high school (885-7900) with questions.
Go to the Springfield High School Facebook website to see current events and fundraisers!
These are some of the original members of STAR which was created by Springfield High School students in 2007.
